The lounge provides a warm and welcoming atmosphere, furnished with large, comfortable sofas, cosy beanbags, and a gas wood-effect fire that adds to the cottage’s charm. The spacious kitchen is fully equipped, featuring a breakfast bar and all the necessary pots, utensils, and crockery. A traditional stable door opens into a generously sized dining room, which includes a large table with six chairs and a well-stocked sideboard of dining accessories.
The first bedroom, affectionately named Cwtch (Welsh for “cuddle”), is elegantly decorated and includes a king-size bed that can be configured as two 2’6” twin beds if required. This room also features a luxurious en-suite bathroom with a double shower, hand basin, and WC. The second bedroom, Cariad (Welsh for “love”), offers a stylish double bed, tasteful decor, and another beautifully designed en-suite with a double shower, hand basin, and WC.
To the front of the cottage, a quiet road leads towards the picturesque village of Myddfai, while the rear of the property boasts a spacious, private, and secure garden. This fully enclosed outdoor space, complete with high gates, makes it especially suitable for families with children and those travelling with pets. A large patio area beneath the graceful Silver Birch tree—the cottage’s namesake—provides an ideal place to relax and unwind.
Exploring the Area
Situated on the A40, Llandovery rests just south of the Cambrian Mountains and north of the Carmarthen Fans and Black Mountains. The town also lies on the western boundary of the Brecon Beacons National Park, making it a superb base for walkers, cyclists, and nature lovers alike. The scenic west Wales coastline is only an hour’s drive away, offering stunning beaches and coastal trails.
Guests staying at Silver Birch will find everything they need within walking distance: local pubs, restaurants, cafés, takeaways, and a variety of shops including a butcher, bakery, greengrocer, and supermarket.
