Offcote Grange Cottage Holidays, Ashbourne, Derbyshire, The Peak District (Sleeps 14-16)

Offcote Grange Cottage Holidays offers 2 cottages - Hillside Croft sleeping 14 within 5 bedrooms and Billy's Bothy sleeping up to 16 with 6 en suite bedrooms. Both cottages specialise in large group holidays, families and hen parties in Derbyshire.

Billy's Bothy
Billy’s Bothy is a beautiful, historic, luxury self-catering cottage and is located amidst a quiet and peaceful pastureland setting, surrounded by the beautiful gardens of historic Grade II listed Offcote Grange, just over 1 mile from the pretty market town of Ashbourne. Many attractions and activities are close by to keep you entertained and it’s a great area for walking and cycling.

There are outstanding views over the Henmoor Valley and our small nature lake where cattle, sheep and our cheeky donkeys graze peacefully on pastureland surrounding the gardens. Built of ancient red bricks, with blue hand-made roof tiles there are an abundance of beams and revealed brick walls throughout. The downstairs windows are a pretty feature with elegantly curved arches over old preserved sty openings.

This lovely peak district holiday cottage has 2 downstairs double, and 1 twin bedroom. There are also two upstairs double bedrooms all of which are en suite. The lounge has a double sofa bed settee with a Jack and Jill bathroom available. There are also three single quality bed chairs within the bedrooms plus two travel cots giving flexibility for our guests. There is an optional 6th annex bedroom on the ground floor also en suite that can be hired to give a full capacity of 16.

It is of note that this character cottage is an upside-down house in that it cuts into the bank, giving ‘ground floor access’ on both floors. The upper floor has 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, the lounge, kitchen and dining room all on the one floor and opens out onto the patio area. The spacious lounge with a cosy wood-burning stove opens out on to a its own private patio with BBQ, fire pit and cottage garden with use of our well-stocked orchard. The flower filled two acre gardens meander around the property for you to enjoy. Plant lovers may wish to explore our walled gardens- please ask to arrange.

The main entrance is also on the downstairs ground floor level with stairs leading to the striking and extremely well-equipped galleried kitchen. The farmhouse kitchen is in the centre of the house and is furnished with antique pine units with tiled and granite worktops and a pottery Belfast sink. This extremely well-equipped kitchen is a pleasure to use.

The dining room is a delight for those special meals with friends and family, our large dining table comfortably seats our guests. Catering can be arranged to make your stay special and there are many excellent restaurants in the area.

This delightful holiday cottage is fully centrally heated throughout with a cosy log burning stove for your added comfort. All heating, electricity, linen, towels and Wi-Fi are included. There is lots of private off-road car parking for all guests

There is a sauna, hot tub and full-sized snooker table on site which can be available for hire by arrangement only. Pampering can also be arranged.

Children are most welcome, there are 2 high chairs and 2 cots.

Hillside Croft
Close to Carsington Water and located in central Derbyshire Hillside Croft is the perfect base from which to explore all the many attractions and activities this beautiful county has to offer. Including Chatsworth house, and many National Trust properties if has some fabulous walking and cycling terrain through the many Derbyshire Dales and over the magnificent Peak District.

Peacefully located in the beautiful Derbyshire Dales at the edge of the magnificent Peak District National Park, our superb .luxury, historic sandstone country cottage sits in 6 acres of private, flower-filled, landscaped gardens and pastureland. Located in the gardens it has its own private hot tub. Quaint stone mullion and pretty leaded glass windows, cosy wood-burning stoves nestled under inglenook fireplaces, ancient oak beamed ceilings throughout and part timbered walls enhance the charm of this exceptional Grade II listed cottage, dated as 1709. The cottage is fitted and furnished to a high standard with antique pine furniture and co-ordinating furnishings, having also the luxury of full oil central heating plus 2 cosy log stoves. There are 3 floors with very shallow stairs- 6 steps to each full landing making access easy for the young or elderly.

Hillside Croft has 5 bedrooms, 4 double (1 en suite) and 1 twin bed. In these rooms are also 4 purpose-built single beds, and 2 cots, making the sleeping capacity 14 (+ 2 by arrangement only).

There is a separate lounge and dining room, exquisitely furnished to compliment this historic character cottage. A large flat-screen TV with free view, DVD and CD player are supplied for your enjoyment. Wi-Fi is available.

The farmhouse kitchen is fully fitted in handmade pine units with tiled and granite worktops and a French double pottery sink. Facilities include a full halogen electric cooker, slow cooker, microwave, auto washer, tumble drier, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and chest freezer. An iron and board, electric mixer, kettle, toaster, blender, coffee maker etc are all provided. The kitchen is a delight to work in with everything at hand for the adventurous chef.

There is a large master bathroom with roll-top bath, sink, walk-in shower and W/C . The master bedroom has an en suite shower with, sink and W/C. Both have shaving sockets. Downstairs is a third W/C and sink.

Linen, towels, heating, electricity and Wi-Fi are included, as is its own private hot tub.

A fire pit BBQ, Chimera and quality aluminium patio furniture overlooking the large gardens and fenced ponds are provided for your use and enjoyment.

There is private off-road car parking for all guests.
