Rona, Melvaig, Gairloch, Ross-Shire, The Highlands (Sleeps 1-4)


Rona is in a stunning position with uninterrupted sea views in a Designated National Scenic Area. The cottage is only 80 yards from the seashore which has private beach access, set in the quiet crofting community of Melvaig, near Gairloch. You can whale watch and view the Northern Lights from Raasay & Rona, a Designated Dark Skies Area. There is also accommodation available in Sealoch on the Isle of Lewis.

Rona
The contemporary bungalow sleeps up to 4 people and enjoys breathtaking views of the sea. The fully equipped kitchen comes with an electric cooker, dishwasher, microwave, fridge and freezer, washer, tumble dryer, toaster and food mixer. The cosy lounge is perfect for relaxing in and comes with an L shaped lounge/dining room with picture windows which boasts views of Skye, Harris and Lewis. Facilities include an electric fire, two large settees, Sky Freeview satellite TV and a DVD player.

Two bedrooms are available: a twin and a double. Both rooms share a bathroom with a bath, separate walk-in shower and heated towel rail.

Sealoch
Across the water, on the Isle of Lewis, is our traditional croft cottage, Sealoch. Around a 5/6 hour journey away from Rona, this property sleeps up to 2 people and comes with a terrace overlooking Loch Odhairn. Ideal for watching the weather change and the fishing boats go past. You can relax in the cosy lounge and the conservatory. The former comes with satellite TV. A bedroom has a comfortable double bed and there is a bathroom with a bath and WC. A separate shower room is also available. The property benefits from having a sauna.

Melvaig has a cafe bar/restaurant nearby. The area's attractions include whale watching and marine trips, including visits to the puffin colonies on the Shiant Islands, salmon, sea trout, brown trout, pike and sea fishing, Bird watching, falconry courses golf course and pony trekking. The coastline around Melvaig and to the Rua Reidh Lighthouse (approx.4 miles) is rugged, a haven for nesting birds, seals, whales and otters.
