The Slap, Ruemuera, Burray, Orkney

The Slap is a tastefully restored 19th Century croft house that now offers self catering holiday accommodation on a working croft at Ruemuera, on the southern Orkney island of Burray. Our holiday home is surrounded by acres of working croft land and enjoys lovely views overlooking Scapa Flow, Churchill Barriers and the island of Copinsay.

Our holiday home has been tastefully decorated and furnished throughout to ensure guests have a home from home that they will want to return to time and time again. There are genuine Orkney flagstone floors with underfloor heating, a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom and a double bedroom.

Burray is connected by road over the spectacular Churchill Barriers to the main island of Orkney, making this one of the most beautiful drives you will take, past the historic block ships, sunk during the two world wars. The Orkney Isles are a beautiful collection of islands where you will find some of the most spectacular scenery in the UK. We are located in Burray which can be found to the north of South Ronaldsay, the southernmost of the Orkney islands, these two islands are connected by the forth Churchhill barrier. Scapa Flow is one of the best diving sites in the world. Diving courses can be arranged for the first time diver. To finish off a hectic day of sightseeing, take a relaxing stroll along one of the many sandy beaches and admire the crystal clear blue seas.
