Maytime Cottage is set in open countryside within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Located just one mile from the village of Whitwell and four miles from the Victorian resort of Ventnor, the cottage is close to some of the Isle of Wight’s finest beaches.
Maytime Cottage boasts a large living area comprising three main reception rooms: a sitting room, a large kitchen/diner, and a further garden room that opens onto the patio and rear garden. The fully equipped kitchen includes a washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, electric hob, oven, fridge, and separate freezer. There is a bathroom and WC upstairs, as well as a shower room and WC on the ground floor.
The sleeping accommodation consists of three upstairs bedrooms. The first is a large double room with a double bed. The second is also a double room, furnished with a single bed and a set of 3ft bunk beds. The third bedroom is a single room with one single bed. Bed linen and towels are provided for up to six people. Heating and hot water are supplied by a gas central heating boiler, and there are wood-burning stoves in the living room and the dining area, making it perfect for those winter months.
Outside, the cottage features an enclosed private rear garden which backs onto an open field. The garden is bounded by hedges and includes a patio area with seating and a rotary washing dryer. Folding chairs are also provided for use in the garden.
Visiting Whitwell and exploring the Isle of Wight offers fine country views with easy access to beaches and walking trails right on the doorstep. The island provides a multitude of activities and attractions to suit all tastes. Whether you prefer surfing, horse riding, paragliding, or simply relaxing and enjoying the scenery, you can tailor your holiday to your preferences. Golfing and fishing opportunities are available within 10 miles.
