Tigh na Croit, Balquhidder, Lochearnhead, Stirlingshire (Sleeps 1-6)


Tigh na Croit offers self-catering accommodation located close to the small village of Balquhidder. This pretty Scottish village is near Lochearnhead on the west Perthshire/Stirlingshire border. Our holiday cottage is over 400 years old and is an ideal bolt hole for those who want a relaxing breakaway. It is in a perfect setting, surrounded by fields and mountains.

The cottage sleeps up to six people in three bedrooms. There are two ground floor double bedrooms and one twin room located on the first floor. One of the double rooms has an en suite shower room and the other rooms share the use of the large bathroom.

The sitting room is spacious and has a lovely open fireplace, comfortable seating and a TV/DVD player.

We have ensured that the kitchen is fully equipped and offers everything you will need. The kitchen comprises of an electric range cooker, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, crockery, cutlery and a range of utensils.

Washing and drying facilities are also available.

Outside is a large private garden that has beautiful flowers, trees and benches so you can sit and enjoy the peace, overlooking the fields and mountains.

Balquhidder is a small village set in a beautiful and dramatic part of Scotland. The village is surrounded by mountains in the northern part of the Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park. Balquhidder is less than a 2-hour drive from both Edinburgh and Glasgow. Numerous activities are available in the area:

Walking.
Cycling.
Fishing.
Golf.
Wildlife spotting.
Horse riding.

With a large number of lochs in Loch Lomond, you will also find that there are many water sports available such as wakeboarding, water skiing, surfing, kayaking, canoeing, river rafting and sailing.

Stirlingshire has wide open spaces and heather strewn hills are ideal for country walks with magnificent views wherever you look. Unblemished by light pollution, savour the spectacular star-studded night skies, sunsets and sunrises. You may even be fortunate enough to witness the Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights) and spot local wildlife; from red deer to eagles and more.
