Willow Cottage is a Four-star self-catering holiday cottage for two, within the conservation village of Wolsingham, in the Durham Dales, Weardale, County Durham, North East England. Willow Cottage can be dated on local plans to the early 1800s, but at this date, the cottage along with the cottage beside it were outbuildings to a larger house. Today it has been refurbished with many of the periods features still retained, including sash windows, oak floors, exposed beams and a feature stone fireplace.

Ground Floor:

With solid oak flooring and an exposed feature stone fireplace with a cast iron stove, the sitting/dining room is ideal for cosy nights in after a day exploring the Dales and the surrounding area. A door leads through to the well-equipped country-style kitchen.

First Floor:

A double bedroom with a beamed ceiling and quality pine furnishings and coordinated decor. Through louvre doors and two steps, down is a spacious bathroom with three piece contemporary white suite.

Cottage Facilities:

Electric hob & oven, microwave, fridge, kettle, toaster, Automatic washer/dryer, iron & ironing board, TV, DVD player, Radio/CD player, a selection of DVDs, CDs, books & games & tourist information pack.

Gas central heating, electricity, towels and bed linen are all included in the rent of this cosy cottage.

Wolsingham known as 'the gateway to the Weardale' is located in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is well situated for exploring all the attractions in the North Pennines and County Durham.

Wolsingham has everyday shopping, a selection of pubs serving meals, fast food takeaways and cafes, all of which can be reached within a leisurely stroll.

Many of these routes are easy to pick up and follow circular routes through local farms and follow up over the rolling hills taking in the beautiful scenery from the fells of both sides of the valley. Weardale provides the setting for a full range of outdoor leisure and country pursuits. An excellent area for walking and cycle hire is locally available.

Binks Cottage provides high-quality self-catering accommodation on a cattle and sheep farm within the Durham village of Thornley. The holiday cottage is close to the small market town of Wolsingham and is surrounded by stunning countryside and views.

This is an excellent area for walking and cycling - Hamsterley Forest, where cycle hire is available and Durham's disused railway tracks are within easy reach and cover many miles - routes can be provided. An abundance of footpaths and bridleways are available to explore where rare birds and plants can be seen.

You are also ideally located for day trips to Newcastle, Durham City and the Coast.

There are many sporting events within easy reach - County Cricket at Chester-le-Street; horse racing at Newcastle, Sedgefield and Hexham; Athletics at Gateshead.
