The Cottage at Dolau Afon offers superb self-catering accommodation in Aberystwyth. Based between the Ystwyth Valley and the Cambrian Mountains in Ceredigion, we are ideally located for a memorable holiday.
Accommodation
Our charming cottage is on a 3-acre smallholding on the banks of the River Ystwyth. Our property sleeps up to 2 people and is perfect for a romantic break away.
Downstairs there is a comfortable open plan sitting/dining/kitchen area. The sitting room comes with a large sofa, armchair, Sky TV, log burner and oak floors. The dining table has seating for up to 4 people. A fully equipped kitchen will suit all your needs and comes with A Halogen hob, electric oven, Tasimo coffee maker, microwave, fridge with freezer compartment, dishwasher, and a washing machine is available. Complementary tea, coffee and sugar.
A delightful double bedroom is on the mezzanine floor. Guests use a shower room which includes a large walk-in shower and heated towel rail.
All bed linen and towels are provided but not beach towels.
To the rear of the cottage, we have a small 1.5-acre campsite which, via a gate in the far corner of the field, leads directly to the river bank where we have fishing rights through Llanila Angling Club. This allows guests to fish 15 miles of river, right down to the sea. For those who enjoy the tranquillity of a river and wish to fish, you are welcome to do so. We also have a riverside secure garden of approximately 1 acre across the road for relaxation which is also suitable for pets to exercise.
Visiting Aberystwyth & Exploring Ceredigion
On your doorstep you can enjoy fishing, walking and cycling. We are an ideal base for visiting Devils Bridge, Elan Valley, Strata Florida Abbey and the Cambrian Mountains. You can visit Aberystwyth and stroll along the seafront or visit Aberystwyth's castle. Penglais Nature Park is on the northern edge of the town and a popular reserve. The woodland here is home to a range of wildlife and boasts fantastic views over the town. Lots of great days out are nearby:
