Normanby is a small village surrounded by open farmland in the Vale of Pickering just ten miles north of the market town of Malton. The River Seven runs through the village on its way from Rosedale to the River Rye. The town of Kirkbymoorside lies a further five miles to the north and when approaching from the south, the purple heather of the North York Moors can be seen in the distance. The Ryedale district of North Yorkshire is a diverse and beautiful area of spectacular scenery, bustling market towns, dale and hill farms, and picturesque villages.
