The Forge & Smithy Holiday Cottages offer a countryside escape in Tumby Woodside, Lincolnshire. These refurbished, fully equipped detached cottages, each with its own enclosed garden and parking area, provide an ideal setting for a peaceful retreat. Situated between Coningsby, just four miles away, and the historic market towns of Boston and Horncastle, these cottages are perfectly placed for exploring the Lincolnshire countryside.

The Forge can accommodate up to five guests. This charming cottage features an open-plan kitchen and dining area, equipped with all the necessary modern appliances, including a range cooker, fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, and tumble dryer. Tea towels are provided for guests. The living room offers a cosy atmosphere with a TV, video, and DVD player, while the modern electric fire adds to the homely feel. Upstairs, the traditional staircase leads to three bedrooms and a bathroom, all offering ample storage space. All bed linen, pillows, duvets, and towels are provided. The cottage also includes a summer room for additional relaxation, and there is a convenient downstairs toilet.

The Smithy is a smaller, fully refurbished cottage that sleeps two. This property retains much of its original character, offering a unique stay in a former blacksmith’s workshop. The Smithy includes a kitchen and dining area with all essential appliances, a double bedroom, and a shower room. Bed linen, pillows, duvets, and towels are provided. Like The Forge, The Smithy also has a summer room where guests can unwind, along with its own patio area and secure parking in private, enclosed gardens.

Tumby Woodside is an excellent base for exploring the surrounding area. The nearby town of Boston hosts a twice-weekly market on Wednesdays and Saturdays and is home to the famous St. Botolph's Church, known locally as The Stump. Visitors can also take a tour of Maud Foster, a working windmill near the centre of Boston. 

The historic city of Lincoln is another popular destination, offering visitors the chance to explore its magnificent Norman castle and stunning 9th-century cathedral. Lincoln also has excellent shopping, with its famous Steep Hill providing both a challenge and a rewarding experience for those who enjoy a bit of exercise along with their shopping trip.

Horncastle, known for its abundance of antique shops, is a traditional market town that draws visitors from far and wide. Nearby Woodhall Spa, a picturesque Victorian resort town, offers a variety of shops, pubs, and restaurants, and is home to the Kinema in the Woods, a historic working cinema that provides a unique movie-going experience.

Tattershall, with its National Trust-managed medieval castle, hosts events throughout the year and is also home to the legendary Tom Thumb’s grave. Aviation enthusiasts will enjoy a trip to Coningsby, where they can see both historical and modern aircraft, from WWII bombers to the latest RAF jets, providing an exciting contrast of aviation history.
