Solomon's Island, Morvah, Penzance, Cornwall
Solomon's Island offers a unique off-grid retreat amidst Cornwall's Area Of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Surrounded by farmland and heath, this period holiday home provides stunning sea views and a serene atmosphere, just a short distance from St Ives and Penzance.
The cottage itself is self-sufficient, boasting its own water supply and solar arrays for power. Inside, guests can unwind in a cosy sitting room with a log burning stove, while the adjoining dining room features an oil-fired Rayburn stove that doubles for cooking and heating water. The kitchen is equipped with modern amenities including a microwave, fridge-freezer, and gas hob, complemented by an original stone larder for storing provisions.
Accommodation caters for up to 7 guests, offering a king-size double bedroom with garden views, a twin bedroom with sea and garden views, and a treble room featuring three single beds, also with sea and garden views. Please note, bedding such as duvet inners and pillows are provided, but guests are required to bring their own duvet covers, bottom sheets, pillowcases, and towels.
Solomon's Island is intentionally designed for peace and relaxation, devoid of TV, landline, or WiFi. Instead, the cottage encourages a digital detox, offering an abundance of board games and ample space to reconnect with loved ones.
Located on Penwith Moors between St Ives and Lands’ End, Solomon's Island provides easy access to scenic walks to historical sites like Chûn Quoit and Chûn Castle. Guests can also venture down to Portheras Cove, renowned for its remote beauty and frequent seal sightings.
