Crags Cottage offers wonderful self-catering accommodation in Catacol, the smallest village in the dramatic north end of the Isle of Arran. Nestled in an amazing setting, it provides outstanding views and glorious sunsets across the Kilbrannan Sound to Kintyre.
The cosy cottage is the ideal place to escape from the hustle and bustle of modern life. Guests can regularly spot various species of birds and sea life, such as seals, otters, porpoises, and dolphins. Red deer roam along the shore, red squirrels around the garden, and even bats can be seen at dusk. The ever-changing view, wildlife, yachts, and fishing boats out on the water offer a constant spectacle from the windows.
The well-equipped kitchen includes an electric oven and hob, fridge, washing machine, and microwave. Guests can relax in the cosy lounge, which features a sofa, table and chairs, Freeview TV, and a DVD/Blu-ray player with a good selection of DVDs. There are also plenty of books and maps about the island. The log burner keeps the lounge toasty during the chillier months while offering majestic sea views from the window.
Up the narrow stairs is a lovely bedroom with twin beds and another wonderful sea view. The large bathroom has a bath with a shower over it, a towel radiator, and a bathroom cabinet. All electricity, logs, bed linen, and towels (except beach towels) are provided, along with a hairdryer, complimentary toiletries, and basic necessities for the bathroom and kitchen.
Outside, there is a garden with garden furniture, a great place for relaxing and admiring the glorious sunsets.
The Isle of Arran offers plenty of activities, including coastal and mountain walks, bird watching, water sports, and cycling. Driving around the island to admire the views is also a popular pastime. Golfers are spoilt for choice with six courses on the island, plus a new Pitch and Putt in Lochranza. Visitors can also explore historic sites and several local arts and crafts studios. Crags Cottage provides a perfect base for exploring the natural beauty and attractions of the Isle of Arran.
