The Lodge, Dallington, Battle, Heathfield, East Sussex

The Lodge is a beautiful self catering lodge, set within a 5-acre smallholding at the end of a quiet, no through road in Dallington, near Heathfield. The Lodge is situated in an idyllic setting with no passing traffic and offers panoramic views, miles of scenic walks and an abundance of wildlife right on the doorstep; making this the perfect location for quiet breaks in rural East Sussex.

The Lodge is all on one floor with 1 double bedroom and a spacious living/dining room which has an additional single bed. There is also a shower room with toilet.

Enjoy the surrounding countryside and woodland views from this holiday lodge on the enclosed decked terrace and lawned garden facing the fields. There is a lot of mistletoe and holly growing around here and it has a Christmas look with deer in the adjoining fields.

We are in a great location for bird watching, there is the Rye Harbour Nature Reserve nearby. Buzzards and Sparrowhawks can be seen flying over the house. There are many Christmas fairs and events including a ride in a sleigh with Santa. There is no passing traffic here and there is direct access from the house into lovely Forestry Commission with good clean walking paths and we are in good walking distance of local food pubs where dogs are welcome. There are many good carol services in local churches as well. Tunbridge Wells is only half an hour away and has many Christmas events. Battle Abbey also stages a Christmas week.

Our smallholding is between Battle & Heathfield at Dallington and is home to an abundance of wildlife. Surrounded by countryside and woodland, The Lodge is the ideal haven for dog walking with miles of picturesque forestry to explore. We have a family of deer which call the smallholding home and can often be seen running through our fields.

The beach is just 13 miles away and there is a shop only 2 miles away and a pub and restaurant within 1 mile. There are many dry clean forestry tracks nearby. At the right time of year, we have bluebells and primroses everywhere.

The picturesque Cinque port town of Rye and the rolling sand dunes at Camber are approximately 30 minutes away. In the other directions along the coast are the South Downs and Beachy Head. There are many craft fairs, agricultural shows and ploughing matches locally, showcasing Sussex wares and produce. The South of England Show and The Kent Show happen nearby. The Wall Garden Music Event is within easy walking distance.
