Colterscleuch House & Cottage are set amidst rural farmland within the Teviot Valley in the Scottish Borders. Hawick town is 10 minutes away and has all the amenities you may need. Both properties are within the same grounds and can be booked together to provide spacious accommodation for up to 16 people. Alternatively, they can be booked separately - the house sleeps up to 10 people and the cottage sleeps up to 6 people. Colterscleuch House is a renovated Victorian farmhouse, providing modern comforts while retaining many period features. There are five bedrooms which consist of three doubles, one twin and one with a set of bunk beds. Three of the bedrooms are en suite and two of these can easily be shared as access is via a vestibule at the bedroom entrances. There is also a shower room on the ground floor. All the bedrooms are on the first floor. All bed linen and towels are supplied.
Colterscleuch Cottage is a converted farm building, with spacious rooms, double glazing and central heating. The two large bedrooms each sleep three people. One room has a double bed and a single bed, the other room has three single beds. There is a family size bathroom with a large bath and separate shower enclosure. The living area is bright and has patio doors leading to a private garden. There is Freeview TV and a DVD player, with a selection of DVDs and books. The dining/kitchen area is a great space for cooking and enjoying meals together. It has an electric cooker with fan oven and grill, microwave, fridge freezer and dishwasher.
Colterscleuch is 8 miles south of Hawick and provides easy access to Edinburgh and Carlisle via the A7 road as well as all the delightful towns and villages in the Borders.
Hawick is the largest town in the Scottish Borders. It is famous for quality knitwear and has many knitwear and cashmere shops as well as tours of the mills where they are made. There is a great choice of attractions for the whole family such as Wilton Lodge Park, Hawick Museum and Borders Textile Towerhouse. There is a leisure centre with a swimming pool, a cinema and great places to eat out and sample wonderful local produce.
The Scottish Borders provides the perfect balance between relaxation and action. There is world-class off road biking, fishing, golf, beautiful peaceful walks and fantastic local food and brews to relax over.
