Chelston Dene is a charming and elegant Victorian villa, built around 1883, set within half an acre of beautifully landscaped and well-maintained grounds. Situated in a quiet and peaceful part of Torquay, it offers a relaxing retreat while still being just a five-minute walk from the beach and a scenic 20-minute stroll along the seafront to the town centre.

Accommodation

Each apartment at Chelston Dene is fully self-contained, tastefully decorated, and thoroughly cleaned and checked to a high standard before guests arrive. The apartments are well equipped to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

Living areas are comfortably furnished and include 32" TVs with Freeview and DVD players, with Apartment 2 featuring a larger 46" screen. Kitchens are fitted with a fridge, microwave, full-size cooker, and all necessary crockery, cutlery, and cooking utensils. All beds are made up ready for arrival, and with various bed combinations available, the accommodation can cater for most groups of two to four people. Each apartment also has its own private shower room, complete with a hand basin, toilet, and shaver facilities.

Guests benefit from super-fast, free internet and one off-road parking space per apartment. Standard check-in time is from 4:00 pm, but earlier check-in may be arranged at no extra cost on request.

Visiting the Area

Chelston Dene is located in the desirable area of Chelston, on the quieter side of Torquay, just 350 metres from the beach, local shops, and bus routes. Attractions such as the English Riviera Leisure and Conference Centre, Torquay Harbour, the Princess Theatre, and Cockington Village are all within easy walking distance. For those arriving by train, Torquay Station is conveniently located just a minute’s walk from the bottom of the garden.

Alpenrose Holiday Apartments offer superb self-catering accommodation in Paignton, Devon. You can choose from a range of well-equipped apartments, perfect for a relaxing getaway. All the apartments have been sympathetically renovated from a grand Victorian property designed by the renowned architect, George Souden Bridgeman.

We have 7 spacious, individually designed and tastefully furnished apartments available.

All the apartments are modern and have well-equipped kitchens including a full size electric cooker, fridge and microwave oven. Bed linen, hand towels, bath towels & tea towels, Freeview TV and gas central heating are all included.

Torbay or The English Riviera is the name given to 3 resorts located on the south coast, in a sheltered bay known as Torbay. On the East side of the bay is Torquay and on the West side is Brixham, whilst in the centre of the bay is Paignton.
