The Wheel House is a single-level cottage that sleeps up to 8 people plus a cot. It has three bedrooms—two en suite double rooms and a twin room. An additional two guests can use a sofa bed in a curtained-off area of the lounge. The large patio and lawned area has direct access to the tennis court, as well as its own barbecue and garden furniture. A unique feature in the lounge is "the turbine," a historical piece of machinery last used 70 years ago to power farm equipment. The dining area, which can seat 8, can be upgraded with a banqueting table for larger groups when rented with The Leat House, allowing seating for 14.
The Leat House is a cosy option for smaller groups, sleeping up to 4 guests plus a cot. It features a king-size bedroom and a super king/twin room, both with en suite bathrooms. The open-plan kitchen, dining, and lounge area has a log burner for those seeking a cosy atmosphere during autumn and winter stays. The historic character of the property is evident in the original beams and vaulted ceilings, complemented by modern amenities such as a 32” TV, DVD player, and a selection of books and games.
The Apple Loft, once used to mill and press apples for cider, has been transformed into a modern holiday home with charming rustic features, such as exposed beams, vaulted ceilings, and flint walling. Built as an upside-down house to take full advantage of the panoramic views, it sleeps up to 4 guests plus a cot. The king-size bedroom and open-plan living area provide a comfortable setting, with a log burner for chilly evenings. The well-equipped kitchen includes all modern conveniences, from a dishwasher to a wine rack, ensuring a stress-free stay.
In addition to the cottages, guests can enjoy a range of on-site facilities. The games barn offers table tennis, snooker, darts, and even a skittle alley, making it an excellent option for rainy days or family fun.
Farwood Barton is an ideal destination for walkers, families, and groups seeking a quiet countryside break. With beautiful walks starting right from the farm and the nearby Blackdown Hills offering more challenging hikes, visitors can immerse themselves in the natural beauty of the area. The Blackdown Hills, designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, promise spectacular views and the opportunity to explore Devon’s unspoilt landscape.
