Aird Farm Holiday Cottages, Ardfern, Argyll, Bute & The Islands (Sleeps 1-6)


Aird Farm Holiday Cottages are situated 3 miles from the village of Ardfern in Argyll. The cottages are traditional Scottish self-catering holiday homes set amongst some of the most stunning scenery in Scotland at the end of the Craignish Peninsula; looking onto the islands of Jura, Scarba, Mull and Luing with a view of the Straits of Corrivrechyan which is the well-known whirlpool between Jura and Scarba.

About Aird House:
Aird House sleeps 6 people and provides a high-quality of accommodation of self-catering accommodation.

The accommodation consists of four bedrooms (one double bedroom with a super king size bed, two single bedrooms and a twin bedroom downstairs), a lounge with a wood-burning stove and oil-fired heating, a fully fitted modern dining kitchen, bathroom upstairs and a toilet and washbasin downstairs. There is also a utility room and drying room at the back entrance. The front of the house is surrounded by a walled garden. There is also an iPod dock.

About Aird Steading Cottage:
Aird Steading Cottage offers spacious, luxury accommodation for 2. This cottage is unique in that it is the only cottage on the Craignish peninsula to have views to the west of the islands of Scarba, Jura, Mull and Luing as well as Loch Craignish to the east. The cottage has: a super king, luxury bathroom with a Jacuzzi, power shower and bathrobes provided, a fully fitted kitchen/dining room with a door leading to an enclosed garden and lounge with a wood burning stove and oil-fired heating and iPod dock.

Visiting Ardfern & Exploring Argyll:
The village of Ardfern is a well-known yachting haven and has a post office, the Crafty Kitchen offering a food cafe with a craft shop within. The local hotel, Galley of Lorne, offers a bar and evening meals in its restaurant. There is also a village shop. Nearby is the village of Craobh Haven with a pub, a seafood restaurant and water sports on offer.

Mid Argyll is well known for its standing stones and Neolithic burial grounds with one being situated on Aird Farm itself. Kilmartin House museum in the village of Kilmartin is a new archaeology centre which shows intriguing views of life in pre-historic Scotland.

Oban is twenty-seven miles with steamers and boat trips to the island of Mull, Tiree and Colonsay. Lochgilphead is twenty miles to the south.
