1 Teesdale Road offers fantastic self-catering accommodation on the south bank of the River Tees, boasting stunning views of the 12th Century ruins of Barnard Castle. Our stylish retreat in county Durham is the perfect base for exploring Teesdale and the Yorkshire Dales.
Our wonderful property is nestled in a tranquil side street, perfect for a relaxing getaway in a brilliant location. The house sleeps up to 6 people and outside you can follow the banks of the river along the footpath onto the Teesdale Way, a great way to savour the breathtaking scenery.
The living space is brimming with individuality and charm, offering plenty of natural light and comfort. There are comfortable sofas, a TV, toasty underfloor heating and dining space to enjoy some home-cooked delights on. A separate sitting area is great for unwinding with a coffee after a day of visiting the local attractions. The lovely open-plan kitchen comes with a range of appliances.
Three superb bedrooms are available: a ground floor king and a twin room which share a family bathroom with a walk-in shower, plus an upstairs super-king loft bedroom with a private walk-in shower.
Outside there is a delightful enclosed rear garden with a patio and seating, great for al fresco dining over a few glasses of wine. There is also a lockable garage with an electric charging point.
The historic town of Barnard Castle is only a few minutes across the river and home to outstanding independent cafes, excellent bakeries, shops, takeaways, pubs and restaurants. Everyone Wednesday there is a traditional market on the cobbles and on the first Saturday of every month, there’s a farmers’ market. You can discover the majestic ruins of the town’s 12th Century castle or head to The Bowes Museum for a fascinating day out.
