45 Academy Street is a comfortable, family-friendly holiday cottage located in the Scottish town of Castle Douglas in Dumfries & Galloway. Our holiday cottage is in a great location for exploring this delightful part of Scotland. We find that we are an ideal holiday home for walkers, golfers, cyclists and fishermen, as well as couples and families who come to relax in 'Bonnie Galloway'.
This 19th-century holiday home has been decorated and furnished with you in mind to ensure you are comfortable and relaxed during your stay. The sitting room has cosy lighting, comfortable seats and a chest full of books, games and local information for you to read or play during your stay.
All of the bedrooms are upstairs and are made up ready for your arrival. The 1st bedroom has 2 adult size bunk beds, the 2nd is a family room with a double bed and a single bed and the 3rd room has a double bed. The house is all electric and easily heated. Fuel costs are included in the rent, as are duvet covers, sheets/pillowcases, dish and hand towels.
Castle Douglas has attractions and places of interest that will suit people of all ages and interests. For the active you could have a go at water sports, cycling or hiking. For those of you who fancy something more leisurely why not visit Kirkcudbright's art galleries or have a stroll around Threave Gardens. If you have children they're likely to enjoy some of the many beaches, or a visit to a historic castle, the closest, Threave, is reached by boat!
