The Old School House, Carbost, Isle of Skye (Sleeps 8)
It has been comfortably modernised while retaining its traditional character, including open fires, but modern double glazing throughout makes for comfort. The large original schoolroom has table tennis and other games making it ideal for evenings and wet weather. The cottage is situated on its own (the nearest house is about a quarter mile away) about half a mile above Carbost on the Isle of Skye.
There are storage radiators in the hall and the sitting room and open fires in the kitchen/sitting room and in the school room. We provide one free sack of coal, a little kindling and a few firelighters to start you off on arrival.
You can buy more in Portree and Broadford or we can sell you extra sacks. The cottage and school room are fully double glazed. There is a private water supply with a UV sterilisation and filtration plant. Hot water is provided by immersion heaters and time clocks and the shower heats its own water. Please note that electricity is NOT included in the rent.
There is a huge variety of things to do on the Isle of Skye including Armade Castle Gardens and Dunvegan Castle. If you’re a keen golfer the Isle of Skye Golf Club is excellent. For those keen on walking and climbing Skye would be a haven.
