Extended and modernised, this spacious, cheerful cottage is situated on a private road in its own garden. The cottage lies within twenty metres of the beach, overlooking the Solway Firth with the Southerness lighthouse only a short gaze away.

Southerness is a small village situated off the A710 some twenty miles west of Dumfries and not far from the Solway Heritage Trail. There is a championship golf course in the village and several other courses within easy access. The cottage is within walking distance of a pub/restaurant and seasonal, basic shopping facilities. There is town shopping within short driving distances at Dumfries, Dalbeattie and Castle Douglas and many excellent pubs and restaurants within the area. There are many and varied activities for all ages in Dumfries and Galloway.

Overall, Southerness is a fine location for an in-situ holiday or as a base for artists, bird watchers, naturalists, walkers, cyclists, golfers and castle hunters.
