The windmill has been completely renovated from an 1824 grain mill and now offers its guests a self catering retreat with a difference. It is situated next to the nature reserve, in a quiet, picturesque and rural location.

How Hill is a conservation area and a well known beauty spot. How Hill is famous for its wildlife, come here to glimpse an otter or see swallowtail butterflies in the late spring, or hear the sound of the booming bittern and there are many beautiful plants to enjoy, some rare ones.

The village of Ludham is about one mile away from How Hill and offers a range of shops.

Both Norwich and Great Yarmouth are about thirteen miles away. Norwich is well worth a visit, being a very historic, medieval City. Norwich Castle and the Cathedral are a must to see but there are many other attractions including a lively arts and theatrical scene.

The nearest beach is about eight miles by road; a bit further a field in North Norfolk are the wonderful beaches of Holkham, Brancaster and Cley.
