The cottage is a charming retreat and is one of six that has been converted from a water driven sawmill dating back to the 1700’s. It is idyllically situated at the foot of the beautiful “Seldom Seen” ravine.

Magnificent views of the Skiddaw Mountain range can be enjoyed at the rear of the property, whilst a sparkling waterfall, tumbling down into the Comb Beck from the vast Whinlatter Forest above. All of this is just a stone’s throw from the front door. The location is truly idyllic, with lovely walking/cycling opportunities and wildlife on the doorstep.

Lake Bassenthwaite and the adjacent village of Braithwaite with its character pubs, restaurants and shops are within walking distance. Only 3 miles away from Thornthwaite’s unspoiled tranquillity is the vibrant town of Keswick with all its varied indoor and outdoor amenities.
