Swordle Bay House, Ardnamurchan, Kilchoan, Argyll (Sleeps 1-11)
Braehouse: This is the characteristic traditional Highland holiday cottage, nestled into the hillside, overlooking the vista of islands to the north. The cottage has one twin and one double bedroom, ideal for a small family or a romantic retreat for two.
Branault House: The original croft house, the sense of tradition here is strong. The two stone byres adjacent to the house are still in use, and in spring time children love seeing new born lambs play in the surrounding fields.
Fascadale Cottage: The holiday cottage is built right on the coast on the ruin of a netsman’s bothy. The view to the mountains of Eigg, Muck, Rum and the Cuillins of Skye is spectacular as are the green and turquoise waters of Fascadale bay.
Achateny Cottage: This was originally the Farmhouse for Achateny farm, with a tiny one-room bothy on the end where the shepherd lived.
Achateny House: The house has views northwards across the sea to the islands of Skye, Eigg, Rum and Muck. The garden attracts many songbirds, which in turn have attracted a pair of sparrow hawks which regularly create havoc overhead.
Fascadale House: The house has one double and three twin bedrooms, all are en-suite plus there is a separate toilet. There is a cooker, microwave, washing machine and dishwasher as well as fridge-freezer in the kitchen. The lounge has a television and video.
Swordle Byre: The converted byre is a stylish combination of old and new. The original walls and courtyard remain, however the interior is fresh and modern – the large living area has a traditional log burning stove, and a 42 inch wide-screen television with satellite TV.
Swordle Bay House: The enormous windows reveal views over the white sand bay and beyond to the islands of Eigg, Muck and Rum, and beyond that to the Cuillins of Skye. From the comfort of the fireside you can watch summer sunsets or winter storms.
