Croft Cottage is an 18th Century traditional Lake District cottage with an abundance of character and traditional features, set in the small hamlet of Clappersgate, 1 mile outside Ambleside.

The cottage is in an elevated position with fantastic views along Lake Windermere, Wansfell and Randy Pike, even better from the patio which is set further up the fellside. The cottage which sleeps 3 people is cosy and spacious, with quality furnishings in keeping with the cute nature of the property.

Croft Cottage and the surrounding cottages, share access to the River Brathay along with a generous sized enclosed grassed area with seating on the riverside. There are boat hooks provided for securing kayaks and canoes. Please note there is a steep ladder down into the water. 

If you are thinking of bringing a kayak, please call for more details. Access to the River is across the main road 100 yards from the cottage.
